  14. 1 cup besan flour
  15. 2 tbsp rice flour
  16. 1/4 tsp turmeric
  17. 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  18. Pinch asafoetida
  19. as per taste Salt
  20. 1/4 tsp baking soda
  21. 1/2 cup water
  22. as per need Oil for deep frying
  23. Other ingredients:
  24. 6 ladi pav
  25. 6 tsp green chutney
  26. 3 tsp tamarind chutney
  27. 3 tsp garlic chutney

Steps to make to make Vada pav

  1. Firstly in a large pan heat oil and splutter mustard,curry leaves fry well Then add ginger garlic paste, coriander leaves sauté well.further add turmeric,hing and sauté for few minutes.Next add mashed potatoes and salt mix well making all the spices combined well.turn off the flame add lemon juice mix well once the mixture is ready keep aside.
  2. Further prepare besan batter by taking besan flour, rice flour,turmeric, chilli powder, asafoetida and baking soda and salt.Add water as required and prepare smooth lump free batter.
  3. Now make ball sized aloo mixture.Dip in prepared besan batter and coat well.deep fry in hot oil stirring occasionally.fry on medium flame till the vada turns golden and crispy.
  4. Drain the vada on a kitchen paper to absorb excess oil.keep aside.
  5. Now slit the ladi pav centre half way without cutting fully.spread all the chutney on one side of inside pav.place the prepared vada in centre of pav.
  6. Finally serve the vada pav.
