  12. 1/2 tsp garam masala powder

  14. 2 tsp Desi ghee
  15. 2 green chillies
  16. 1 whole red chilli
  17. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  18. 1/2 inch ginger's Julienne
  19. 2-3 garlic cloves finely chopped

Instructions to make to make Sarson k saag

  1. Clean and wash the saag well.then chopped it.heat oil in a pressure cooker.add onion sliced saute.when onion turns light golden add chopped green chillies, garlic and ginger. Saute few seconds then add chopped sarson k saag. Mix well.
  2. Cook the saag for 3-4 minutes. Then add chopped tomatoes,salt and all powder spices except garam masala. Mix and cooked for 3-4 minutes.keep stirring. Add 1 cup water and pressure cook for 1 whistle then turn the flame medium and cook it for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Allow to Release the pressure naturally. Open the pressure cooker. Take a hand masher and mash the saag very well.then cooked it on high flame until the water evaporate and it released oil.add garam masala powder and cook 2 minutes. Turn off the flame.
  4. Transfer the cooked saag in serving bowl. Take a tempering pan add ghee. When ghee heated add cumin seeds,ginger's Julienne, garlic and green Chilli. Break the whole red chilli add it when garlic turns golden brown remove from heat pour this tempering on cooked saag.
